Wonderful place to take your pets, He also does farm animals.

Really good doctor and his staff members they've always been great to me

A shot isn't the answer if the veterinarian doesn't know the problem.

Awesome vet and staff......we wouldn't take our furbabies anywhere else!!!!

All who read this please ask questions to your veterinarian. There should be a plaque on the veterinarians wall that says they are a referral to the medical centers. One medical center is located in Virginia and the other is located in Columbus, Ohio.

Always taken care of my babies great people

Please make sure your veterinarian is doing blood work, that they do a complete medical examination of the problem your pet is having. They have no idea what they're treating or doctoring, like this Veterinarian, if a complete examination hasn't been done first by a specialist.

Please don't let anything happen to your pet like what happened to mine. You can prevent it. I just wish someone would have told me what I'm trying to tell you now and my little puppy would have a left eye right now.

The reason I gave one star is because they did not have a place where you could put no stars. I took my puppy in for a simple, at the time, eye infection . She was treated For inflammation of the eye by giving her a shot In the hip and put her on antibiotic pills for a week. Her eye started to change colors and he said that it was due to water under the eye that it would go away. The doctor took her off of the Antibiotic after 5 days and put her on a lubricating type salve of the eye for irritation. Then he put her on eye drops that did nothing but hurt her eye. This whole time that he did all this, her eye was being ate up with bacterial infection. Her little eye look so horrible I demanded that they give me a number of someone that knows about the eye of dogs because he did not know what he was doing with My little Chihuahua's eye. The staff were very reluctant, including the doctor on telling me about the Virginia medical center and even giving me the number and even letting me know I could take her there for treatment. I was told the doctor Called the medical center in Virginia which the center had no information about, they received no calls. I was then told by the Pocatalico Animal Hospital that they don't call the medical centers for anyone. The person with the animal has to do the calling and scheduling of an appointment. Tom McMahon staff said, after they finally called the Virginia Medical Center, the only opening is 11/24/17. Reluctently the doctor, Tom McMahon, gave me another number in Columbus, Ohio to the Medical Center for Veterinary Medicine. I called and this medical center in Ohio took my puppy the very next morning. The phone calls from me were made on the 16th of November 2017. One week earlier from this date and my puppies eye could have been saved. One week later and my little dog would have died. I was fortunate to get her in on the 17th the following day. The eye was in such bad shape by now that the following Monday it had to be removed due to a rupture from where the bacteria had eaten the front wall of the eyeball so thin. The Pocatalico doctor knew he didn't even have the medicine to treat this infection. He was calling it water under the eyeball that would go away. I don't understand why he caused my little dog such suffering and as a result, she lost her eye. It's up to us and our pets depend on us to take care of them and I trusted this man and depended on him to take care of her medically. He never even said he was sorry. He told me he did not have the Antibiotic medications to treat an infection of this sort. He did not even know the eye had an infection until it got so bad my puppies life was at stake. Why did he do this to my little puppy and didn't even want to give me a number to those who could have helped her from the very beginning that would have saved her little eye. No one is supposed to even touch your pets eye until a qualified physician has done a complete medical examination of it 1st. I did not know this myself at first, I don't think he knows it. They are supposed to send you to a specialist first.
