I would not call and complain when I got a ticket if I were just too cheap too pay 50c to park.I called as soon as I returned from a job interview and saw that I received a ticket.I explained the situation and advised the person I spoke to that the meter would not register my change.I said if you check,it will show at least an extra 50c from me that did not register time used on the machine.I received a call the next day that the machine was "checked and found to be in working order".Its kind of convenient how that happened. It is very discouraging and disheartening to be a law abiding citizen and still fall victim to fees.I would only hope that the city or state or whomever is in charge of upkeep would please take a look into the matter so others that are law abiding citizens like myself do not have this happen again. To think I was trying to park for a job interview to better aid in my financial strain, and then I get a stupid ticket.Oh how I wish I would have done what I started to do and video it,if I would have just had the time!!
Went the next week to pay in person -- got some neat pictures, but not very fond of Charleston's way of greeting out of town guests.
As a law abiding citizen,to get a ticket because of faulty equipment owned by the parking system is a crime!
Stopped at a church late in the afternoon on a Saturday with no cars parked on either side of the street. Never even guessed that parking fees were still due. Came out about 45 minutes later and there was a ticket.
