I have been going to Kanawha State Forest since I was very young lots of good memories, the Lake used to be better, nice place for picnics
Relaxing to just sit and enjoy. Walking trails. Bike trail. Lovely shelters. Relaxing water sounds. Shade or sun -- I could pick. Rustic camp site at $24 seems a bit steep.
I love it because it's nice and quiet. There could be a lot more and the upkeep could be better, but actually kind of nice for Charleston.
Bike trails need to be better rated. We tried the only trail rated as easy, but it was far from easy. We didn't even make it a quarter of a mile before turning back.
It's a cool park but I'm a Coonskin kinda guy. It's just so handy and right there. KSF has seen it's better days. It still has great potential but it needs a cash infusion. Oh what a world it would be if we still had the CCC.
