First of all, she was 30 min late. Then she made me hold parts of my leg to aid her in waxing (was I getting paid to do this? Nobody else ever made me do that!). Then, I think she used hard wax, because it hurt way worse than any other wax I had received. On top of that, it was the most expensive wax I had received! Too much pain + too much money=don't waste your time.
I have been receiving waxing treatments for at least 2-3 years, and this has been the worst ever. The lady I usually saw in Charleston was out of town, so I decided to go to Tracie's, one of the few places in Charleston that seems to do waxes.
I went here for my bachelorette party with 9 other girls. They had called ahead and set everything up weeks in advance. Tracie's Spa was aware of what services everyone was wanting. We got there at noon and the owners husband and his friend were on the front porch obviously drunk and obnoxious. Once inside the entrance wreaked of cigarettes and looked very dated. Myself and 2 other girls had decided to get a massages and everyone else was getting pedicures. I received a hot stone massage and it was by no means professional. I have had my share of professional massages and this was no where near the experiences I have had. The other girls had the same opinion. The entire time the lady kept asking "is that okay". I am serious, the entire time. It was not a relaxing atmosphere at all. Then I received a margarita pedicure, which cost about $70. After waiting nearly 2 hours to get an opening (since there were only 2 women giving doing them) They soaked my feet for an hour while they took a smoke break and looked all over for the margarita mix. Well the owner finally came back with a frozen lemonade because they had ran out of margaritas. Two of the girls had gotten margaritas, and they had called ahead and booked at least 5 margarita pedicures. Several of the girls had to have their toes repainted because the polish ran and I honestly could have done a better job myself. The designs were nail stickers that you could buy at the dollar store. After talking with the lady doing my toes, I found out she didn't even work there but her friend called her to help since we had such a large party. No One was professional, trust me! When it came time to pay the owner tried to charge everyone more than was quoted. She stated that her prices we subject to change and when we mentioned her website clearly stated the prices she said that it hadn't been updated in 10 years, but then changes her story to 2 months. She had no price list anywhere in the establishment and said she had to go home to get it. The service was not worth the original price, and definitely not the new jacked up price. She was incredibly rude!! The debit machine was also down, which was huge inconvenience. She said she also had told us that before hand, which was NOT true. During no conversation was it ever mentioned. She said it had been down for 8 months. When we mentioned the very long wait (5 hours before we got out of there) and that they had ran out of margaritas she stated that she was confused about what everyone wanted. It had been clearly explained to her several times. This was the worst spa experience I have ever had. I guarantee no one in that establishment is licensed in any way. The most unprofessional place I have ever been. Stay away!!
