In response to the salon, I left a tip because I understand that at many salons stylists aren't paid well. I didn't want to not tip and totally shaft the guy, even though I was unhappy, because that strikes me as a cruel thing to do. Also, it is unbelievably petty for you to check your receipts just to discount a review. I left a review nearly 2 years later because I moved here and now have friends in the area, where before I was only in town for the weekend and needed a haircut; I now have a personal stake in preventing people from having the experience I did. I'm glad you fired the guy, but I still think it was negligent to hire someone who doesn't know not to wet curly hair before cutting it, since curls shrink when they dry.
I have been using Angela's Salon for pedicures and hair for two years. I love Karen and Jessica! However, after my recent experience, I will no longer be patronizing this business. I brought my elderly grandmother there for a dry cut- no washing, no styling. She was in the chair for 10 minutes. She was still charged $40. I addressed this with the owner, Angela, and she did not see the issue with charging my grandmother $40. She viewed it as a way to "encourage" people to get the full service. Well, she can encourage all her other clients, but she won't be encouraging me or my family anymore!
Love the services that I get at Angela's Salon. Tara Casto is my hair stylist and she is amazing. The people who work here are friendly and accommodating. They do so much besides just hair too...including wonderful facials, teeth whitening, mani's and pedis.
I went here today for a pedicure .... and the service was wonderful... the ladies were very helpful and nice ... I would highly recommend Angela's.
I received arguably the worst haircut of my entire life here. I showed the man who cut my hair a picture of MY HAIR, on my head. I asked him to give me that same cut, but ever so slightly shorter so I wouldn't have to come back so quickly. I wanted my hair down to just below the collarbone area. I asked that he not cut out my layers, and not to touch my bangs. I have very curly, normally shoulder-length or longer, kind of thin hair. He wet it before he cut it, which is a disaster on curly hair because the curls shrink when they dry. Instead of giving me what I asked for, he gave me an all-one-length, chin-length bob I hated that was very hard to style without it getting frizzy and round. It was barely even long enough to pull up into a ponytail, and he had the gall to charge me $40 for the worst haircut ever. I was so scarred by the experience, I haven't been to a stylist since and my hair just grew back to its previous length, two years later. Avoid this place like the plague.
